Jesus Loves Me More than You
Barb found a report from CNN.com on a Pew Research Center survey of attitudes toward torture.
The key finding: The more often Americans attend church, the more likely they are to support the torture of suspected terrorists.
Six in ten white evangelical protestants said torture is often or sometimes justified. Only 4 in 10 non-churchgoers agreed.
Barb thought this would have been good news for Pontius Pilate. “A little hand-shaking, a little baby-kissing — who knows? — he could have had a future in the church.”
And since this is already a post wallowing in absurdities, we might add another character from a recent e-mailing of biblical humor which had no redeeming quality except this malaprop:
Judas Asparagus.
Wasn’t he one of the twelve opossums?

Of COURSE devout churchgoers approve of torture. Down through the centuries, chuRches (of various persuasions, but certainly the Christian inquisitors) have been among the major torturers. The exception may be the Buddhists — I say may be because when you ask them they don’t answer, they just hum.

This is consistent with the prophecy. See the following chart:
