Weird. As the cameras showed Wheelchair Cheney arriving at the ceremony, I sent Andrew Sullivan and email (he was live blogging and I thought he could use it) “Wow, Cheney is very Dr. Strangelove-ish”. Guess that meme was coming up all over the place!

You may have been the originator. Brokaw didn’t say where he got it — which is exactly what he’s done all the other times he’s scarfed up your material.

I was at the Inauguration, one of the lucky ones who actually make it into our ticketed area and as soon as they rolled Cheney in, the “Dr. Strangelove” comments began in our sector.
Could any of us imagined a more fitting end visual for the Dick?

It’s perfect. Keith Olbermann said Cheney hurt his back trying to move his man-sized safe.

Dick Cheney in a wheelchair is sort of like Jesse Helms dying. Why couldn’t it have happened when it would have done someone some good?

Maybe it’s just a prop he’s using to generate sympathy for his war-crimes trial.
