Don -- No, it's Al. It was Mark who wrote "Deleted emails may rise from the dead," which blew the roof off DailyKos when it was posted there as a diary, and hundreds of people responded. As to where is the outrage, there's a good lead article on DailyKos.com right now (Saturday, 6/30) about why there's been no move toward impeachment in Congress and what it will take to build public support for the seriousness of the situation (and of the crimes)

It is mystifying why there isn't more public outrage. Going-along seems to be the default position here in the retirement village, okay, home, where I live in Oakmont near Pittsburgh. But I'd like to know the writer's name. Mark, is this you?

Mark H articulates my anxieties very well. How did so much become compromised so quickly? And WHERE is the public outrage? Why aren't we seeing demonstrations on the scale that we saw in the 60's? Maybe because the administration has been extremely careful not to "inconvenience" us. In the 60's, there was a draft. The present administration has been avoiding that like the plague---to the point where they are taxing the existing troops to the breaking point. They don't want to do anything that will wake us up from our comfortable stupor.

Well stated! you've summed up the problem in a nutshell. Most people are inattentive to such problems and a bit cynical about it all-- until it gets really bad, which it now has. Hopefully, November's election returns are an indication that more people are awakening to this large scale subversion, and they want their country back. One more electoral sweep might be enough to turn the tide.

Fabulous writing and absolutely TRUE! The CEO who drove our company into bankruptcy was a charming idiot! But on the scale that Bushco is operating, it's absolutely frightening. I am 60...I never dreamed the destruction of a republic could happen to fast. I KNEW corporations had taken control of lots of things, but never dreamed now that they HAD THAT control, BUSHCO could almost turn a key and turn this almost into fascism while handing over the remaining power to the Fundamentalist Religious nuts..... I hope this U.S. Population wakes and up and screams for truth SOON. THANKS for an inspiring read. (I found your site from Lynette).

I think that W. is hearing from the Old Testament God--or maybe it's just the voices in his head from too much booze and coke.
