But their ability to trash the country and the constitution is shrinking fast, and the cycle of scandals, hearings, and prosecutions has further, maybe much further, to go. Given the rising level of disgust, the 2008 elections may set the stage to reverse the process. And about that time, Clarence Thomas will start thinking about his legacy and turn liberal.
